Job Overview
Spark Homestead is a unique residential treatment program specializing in autism, located in Payson, Utah. It provides a safe, all-girls environment for teens in grades 9-12 to build self-identity, confidence, and resilience. Alongside treatment, it offers a full curriculum and year-round school to foster a love of learning. We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support the preparation of healthy, delicious meals for our students and staff in a vibrant, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering to special dietary needs as directed.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety, adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Manage food storage and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Help with menu planning and meal preparation, including accommodating special diets as instructed by healthcare professionals.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, and food surfaces.
- Engage positively with students, contributing to a welcoming environment.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
- Follow all kitchen protocols and safety standards.
Schedule
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Competitive pay with potential increases every three months.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 20 years old.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of kitchen experience, with a passion for food preparation and service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and order.
- Ability to serve meals for up to 20 people during 8-hour shifts.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Homestead in all weather conditions.
- Fluency in English (speaking, understanding, reading, writing).
- Positive attitude and willingness to engage with students meaningfully.
