Job summary

ISD 728 is seeking a Cook Helper to join the school kitchen team, starting wage $20.23/hour and ASAP start. You’ll help serve lunches, assist with food prep, and handle the register alongside a friendly kitchen crew.

Locations include Rogers Middle School, Rogers Elementary, Prairie View, and Rogers High School. Shifts range from about 3 to 7 hours per day with afternoons free, weekends off, and occasional catering events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Basic kitchen knowledge including cooking, serving, and cleaning.
• Comfort with simple math for cashiering and measuring.
• Team player able to interact with students, staff, and parents.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and use standard kitchen cleaners.
• Willing to learn the computer systems used by ISD 728.

Responsibilities

• Serve lunches, prep food, and run the register with the kitchen crew.
• Help track meal counts, handle daily deposits, and stock groceries when deliveries arrive.
• Clean and reset the kitchen after lunch; prepare for the next day.
• Occasional catering events and extra hours may come up if you want them.

What you'll do:

You'll work alongside a friendly kitchen crew serving lunches, helping prep food, and running the register. When lunch wraps up, you'll help clean and reset the kitchen so it's ready to go the next day. You may also help track meal counts, handle daily deposits, and stock groceries when deliveries arrive.

No two days feel exactly the same, but every day ends with the kitchen clean, the students fed, and your afternoons free.

What we're looking for:

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Basic kitchen knowledge: cooking, serving, and keeping things clean and safe
• Comfort with simple math for cashiering and measuring
• A team player who's friendly with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work around standard kitchen and cleaning products
• Willingness to learn the computer systems we use (we'll train you)

Occasional catering events and extra hours may come up if you want them.

Locations and Hours:
Rogers Middle School

• 3 hours/day; approximately 10:45 am to 1:45 pm
• 3.5 hours/day; approximately 10:15 am to 1:45 pm

Rogers Elementary School

• 4.5 hours/day; approximately 9:30 am to 2:00 pm

Prairie View Elementary School

• 4.75 hours/day; approximately 9 am to 1:45 pm

Rogers High School

• 7 hours/day; TEMPORARY Approx. 9/1/26 to 12/24/6; 6 am to 1:30 pm
