Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is hiring a temporary Cook Helper at Rogers High School. The role runs 5 hours per day (8:30am to 1:30pm) with a starting wage of $20.23 per hour and ASAP availability through 12/24/26.

Responsibilities include serving meals, assisting in food prep, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with possible extra hours for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Know-how of cooking, serving, sanitation, and kitchen safety.
• Ability to work well with others and maintain good relations.
• Basic math skills for cashiering or measuring food.
• Lifts up to 50 pounds and handles kitchen tasks safely.
• No allergies to kitchen/cleaning chemicals.
• May work at events or caterings and extra hours if needed.
• training and/or use of computer equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Serves student lunches according to standards and may cashier to ensure timely service.
• Assists Head Cook with hot food prep and opening cans.
• Participates in final food preparation for serving.
• cleans counters, dishes, stoves, and lunchroom equipment.
• Washes trays, dishes, pans, and utensils for the next day.
• Transmits daily data to Manager of Food Service.
• Maintains cash banks and cashier logs.
• Reports daily sales data and meal counts to Head Cook.
• Shares enrollment information with the Manager and free/reduced clerk.
• May notify students of balances and contact guardians for low balances.
• May assist in grocery delivery/stocking.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
