Banner Casa Grande Medical Center is seeking a Cook Assistant to support our Culinary & Nutrition team in Casa Grande, AZ. You will assist with salad and dessert prep, side dishes, dishwashing, and helping the Cook. The department features a brand new kitchen and state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
Work shifts are varied mornings and evenings with weekends and holidays on rotation. You will follow standardized recipes, help maintain stock, log temperatures, and keep work areas clean.

You will enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential plus an 18% night shift differential for hours from 7pm and later if/when applicable.
As a Cook Assistant you will be helping in the kitchen with various tasks including salad and dessert food prep, preparing and serving side dishes, helping with the dishes, and assisting the Cook. As an added benefit, the Culinary department has a brand new kitchen, with all new equipment!

FS - Typical Foodservice/Kitchen Environment: (Cook, Food Services Worker). Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend frequently. Work may be done in uncomfortably high temperature and humidity, sometimes on wet surfaces. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Must wear protective clothing as required. Ability to communicate effectively.
This position requires the ability to learn and follow established policy and procedures, read and understand written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively and perform simple math calculations. Must be able to perform tasks within limited time frames and follow cleaning schedules, use chemicals safely, follow food handling procedures correctly, read thermometers and follow safety requirements. Must learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required. Requires the ability to learn all onsite food service equipment including stoves, ovens, steam-jacketed kettles, steam table, grill, fryer, slicer, beverage brewing and dispensing equipment, soft serve machine, food carts, dish racks, cleaning equipment and hazardous chemicals used in cleaning and sanitation.
