Job summary

Oliver James is partnering with a leading Real Estate Asset Manager in downtown Chicago to search for an Assistant Controller. The role offers hybrid work, competitive compensation, and comprehensive health, PTO and retirement benefits.

You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes; prepare and post journal entries; review investor admissions; and coordinate reporting and tax requirements. You will also supervise junior staff and drive process improvements to support client service.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience with real estate background.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA strongly preferred (or willingness to pursue).
• Self-starter with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
