Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help lead its accounting function and support continued business expansion in a growth-focused, project-driven environment. You will work closely with executive leadership to strengthen reporting processes, oversee GAAP compliance, and provide financial guidance across multiple active projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in project-based organizations (construction/engineering).
• Experience with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Strong GAAP, SOX, and internal control knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and large data analysis.
• Experience with construction ERP systems such as Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Sage 300, Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations with accurate, timely financial information.
• Support month-end and year-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Monitor project costs, WIP, and contract activity to assess profitability.
• Provide financial insights to project leaders to inform business decisions.
• Maintain internal controls and assist with SOX compliance and audits.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; participate in system upgrades and reporting enhancements.
