LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a rapidly growing institutional real estate investment platform to recruit an Assistant Controller for its corporate accounting leadership team. You will oversee a staff, work with the Controller and executive team, and support a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with commercial real estate, private equity real estate, REIT, real estate investment management, or real estate clients at a public firm.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, partnership accounting, and investment entity structures.
• Experience reviewing financial statements for multiple legal entities.
• Leadership experience managing or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting and financial reporting function for a large commercial real estate investment portfolio.
• Supervise and develop a team of property and corporate accountants.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for investment entities.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and drive improvements.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and partnership accounting standards.
• Review complex journal entries and reconciliations.
