Coda Search│Staffing is partnering with a private equity group to hire an Assistant Controller for its New York, NY offices. The position will oversee a portfolio of funds, coordinate quarterly financials, and work closely with a 3rd party administrator to ensure accurate reporting and timely closes.

The role demands 8+ years in PE or related settings, with a strong background in accounting and public practice. CPA is a plus, and a focus on process improvements and automation is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience, ideally within private equity
• Public accounting experience
• Active CPA would be a plus
• Process improvement experience and building efficiencies

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the firm’s funds and investments.
• Oversee third-party administrator and reconcile discrepancies.
• Prepare and review dealing closings and assist with cash flow forecasting and distributions.
• Manage portfolio valuation processes, including fair value adjustments and policy compliance.
• Lead the annual audit with external auditors to ensure reporting standards.
• Partner with the investment team to provide deal support.
• Collaborate to enhance reporting automation and improve processes.
• Monitor fund performance metrics and provide insights to inform strategy.
