Job summary

Amsted Rail Company is seeking an accounting professional to support month-end closing, analysis, and reporting under the Controller. The role includes preparing internal business unit reports, reviewing shipments and inventory movements, and assisting with payroll.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related study.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, team-building, written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of ethical integrity and ability to maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month end preparation, analysis and reporting.
• Prepare internal business unit reports including review of daily shipments and product sales, inventory movements, and weekly/monthly expense reporting.
• Report on capital and major repair projects; prepare ad hoc reports and variance analysis.
• Collect and report daily production numbers and daily material usage.
• Oversee the preparation of payroll.
