Job summary

Kirkhill, Inc. invites applications for an Assistant Controller who will partner with the Vice President of Finance and lead the accounting function in a standard-cost manufacturing environment.

You will ensure close integrity, cost accounting accuracy, and timely financial information for operations leadership and TransDigm corporate. This hands-on leadership role requires building and coaching the finance team, owning the close processes, and driving process automation and AI-enabled insights

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• California CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting, accounting systems and financial analysis in a manufacturing environment with standard costing.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Advanced Excel for financial analysis, modeling and reporting.
• Demonstrated full-cycle close ownership and strong technical GAAP foundation.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle close process (monthly/quarterly/year-end) with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and consolidated reporting.
• Prepare internal management reporting, variance analysis, and corporate submissions.
• Design and maintain the internal control environment in a SOX setting; ensure segregation of duties and audit readiness.
• Coordinate internal and external audits; address findings and close gaps.
• Own standard cost setup, annual cost rolls, and accurate costing across SKUs/BOMs.
• Analyze PPV, manufacturing variances, and margins; surface cost-reduction opportunities.
• Partner with operations to understand cost drivers and drive productivity.
• Automate reporting and apply AI to speed close and improve decision-making.
