Neuberger Berman NB Private Markets is seeking a senior fund accounting and financial reporting professional in New York. The role supports fund accounting across the ILS fund complex, direct investments, and hedge funds, partnering with portfolio managers and investor relations to provide accurate NAVs and performance reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in accounting/finance, CPA is a plus, and experience with credit products, direct investments, or hedge funds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-8 years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus.
  • Experience with credit related products, including loan settlement and trade reconciliations is a plus.
  • Exposure to direct investment and/or hedge fund accounting/reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting: monthly estimates, NAV, allocations, waterfalls for ILS, direct, and hedge funds.
  • Assist in investor reporting, annual audits, and due diligence across ILS, direct, and hedge funds.
  • Cash management forecasts and budgets for investment across ILS, direct, and hedge funds.
  • Maintain expense ledger for budgeting, attribution, and forecasting.
  • Oversee fund credit facilities and ensure compliance with agreements.

NB Private Markets is a rapidly growing group within Neuberger Berman with over $120 billion of investor commitments across our private equity fund of funds, secondary investments, co-investment and direct investment areas, including alternative credit. Neuberger Berman's Insurance-Linked Strategies launched in 2009. Its mission is to deliver uncorrelated and attractive risk-adjusted returns using a dynamic and active risk management approach, leveraging the broader Neuberger Berman platform. This role will support fund accounting and financial reporting across the ILS fund complex as well as direct investment and hedge fund vehicles, working closely with portfolio managers and investor relations teams across these strategies.

Responsibilities: Responsible for financial reporting process, including but not limited to monthly performance estimates, close packages/NAV, allocations, waterfalls and fund returns for ILS, direct investment, and hedge fund vehicles Assist with the Fund Administrator responsible for the preparation of the investor reporting process including Monthly investor statements, annual audits and due diligence requests across ILS, direct, and hedge fund structures Assist in cash management forecasts and budgets to establish capital available for investment across the ILS, direct investment, and hedge fund portfolios Maintain expense register and ledger for expense budgeting, attribution, and forecasting Oversight and compliance of fund credit facilities by accurately comprehending and interpreting the agreement, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of the assets in the portfolio Perform data analysis on large asset portfolios including data reconciliation and calculation of portfolio compliance tests such as portfolio quality and concentration ratios Review management fee calculations and performance fee calculations, including incentive/performance fee structures common to direct investment and hedge fund vehicles Reply to investor queries around fund performance, NAVs, taxes, and other areas spanning ILS, direct, and hedge fund investors Assist audit and tax professionals in year-end audit and tax reporting for ILS, direct investment, and hedge fund entities Support the onboarding and integration of new direct investment and hedge fund vehicles into the fund accounting and reporting infrastructure Various ad-hoc requests from senior management, portfolio managers, and investor relations Assist with SEC or other regulatory compliance as required

Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance Strong understanding of accounting theory and fund accounting and financial reporting 5-8 years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus Experience with credit related products, including loan settlement and trade reconciliations is a plus Exposure to direct investment and/or hedge fund accounting/reporting is a plus Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results LI-MB1 LI-Hybrid

Compensation Details The salary range for this role is $160,000-$190,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
