Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, NJ is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee accounting and reporting functions and support the Controller in day-to-day operations of the Business Office.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, 2 years supervisory, a bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Great Plains and ERP systems such as Workday or Oracle. The Assistant Controller will contribute to monthly closes, audits, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in accounting; other related degrees will be considered.
• CPA is desirable, but not required.
• Must have higher education or non-profit experience.
• Must have advanced experience in Great Plains Accounting Software.
• Proficiency in complex ERP System (Workday, Banner, Great Plains, PeopleSoft, or Oracle)

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting and reporting functions of the University.
• Oversee monthly close checklist and reconciliations.
• Review journal entries and accounting schedules.
• Maintain audit documentation and schedules.
• Ensure subsidiary systems reconcile to the general ledger.
• Assist auditors with annual tax returns and audits.
• Prepare financial information for annual reports to IPEDS, NCAA, and accreditations.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and monthly budget vs. actual analysis.
• Lead/co-lead efforts to integrate subsidiary systems to ERP.
