Job summary

Health Plus Management LLC in Uniondale, NY is seeking an energetic Assistant Controller to support accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, and internal controls across multiple locations. This role reports to the SVP of Finance and Accounting and drives accurate financial information to support growth.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years in accounting/finance, strong Excel and financial systems knowledge (Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify), and proven leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Advanced accounting and financial reporting knowledge required.
• Public Accounting and/or audit experience preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in accounting/finance.
• Healthcare management or clinical services industry experience preferred.
• GAAP knowledge and strong internal controls understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing all accounting operations including AR, AP, payroll, GL and financial reporting.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial performance; identify variances and provide recommendations.
• Assist with annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and external audits.
• Support payroll processing and benefits accounting.
• Oversee cash flow management and banking relationships.
• Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance as needed.
• Assist with tax filings, insurance renewals, and compliance activities.
• Develop and document accounting workflows and process improvements.
• Manage financial system administration (Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify).
• Participate in strategic financial planning and organizational initiatives.
