Job summary

StevenDouglas is seeking an Assistant Controller of Fund Accounting in Austin to oversee fund accounting operations, financial reporting, fund administration, and investor reporting across the firm's investment funds.

You will work directly with the Controller and finance leadership to ensure accurate, timely reporting and contribute to the growth of the investment platform through process improvements and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent.
• CPA is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive fund accounting experience.
• Experience with private equity or investment management is preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and investment fund accounting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight of fund accounting operations including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review fund financial statements, capital account statements, and investor reporting packages.
• Coordinate with third-party fund administrators to ensure accurate reporting and timely deliverables.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, allocations, and waterfall calculations.
• Support quarterly and annual valuations, investment accounting, and portfolio company reporting.
• Assist with preparation and review of GAAP-based financial statements.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax compliance with external auditors.
• Monitor fund-level cash activity, capital commitments, and liquidity requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with senior finance leadership on special projects and new fund launches.
