Job summary

T E C Industrial is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller and help lead day-to-day accounting operations. This role focuses on strengthening internal controls, improving reporting accuracy, supporting forecasting, and delivering insights that drive smart business decisions.

The Assistant Controller will help manage month-end and year-end closes, oversee GL activity, and coordinate with operations on project costing and revenue recognition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience with close processes.
• Experience in construction, industrial services, or project-based accounting preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; Timberline (Sage) preferred.
• Ability to mentor accounting staff in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, maintain records, and support budgeting/forecasting.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and management reports with high accuracy.
• Oversee general ledger activity and reconciliations; resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Monitor job cost reporting, WIP analysis, and project profitability.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; drive reporting improvements.
• Develop accounting policies and strong internal controls.
