Job summary

ProPetro seeks a PROPWR Assistant Controller to support the PROPWR Controller in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for the PROPWR power and energy unit. This role oversees day-to-day accounting processes and provides financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interact with all levels.
• Ability to travel to Midland, TX for quarter-end to support close.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and working papers.
• Manage PROPWR revenue accounting, including monthly accruals and intercompany transactions.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and coordinate credit memos as needed.
• Analyze monthly operating results; explain variances vs budget and forecast.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the PROPWR segment.
• Review labor hours and headcount reports for accuracy with Operations.
• Assist with accounts payable accrual analysis and related journal entries.
• Coordinate with Fixed Asset and Finance on depreciation and capitalization.
• Support internal and external audits, including SOX and controls documentation.
• Maintain compliance with tax and reporting requirements for PROPWR.
• Engage in process improvements and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.
• Attend required HSE training and use PPE.
