Job summary

ABL Wholesale Distributors is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee daily accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and provide accurate financial reporting. You will manage the general ledger, close cycles, journal entries, and tax-related tasks while supervising AR/AP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 5-7 years of relevant work experience; corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and databases; AS400 experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and month-end and year-end close processes.
• Perform routine account analysis and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform routine banking transactions through online banking platforms.
• Supervise daily accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Order cigarette tax stamps and prepare and submit related tax returns.
• Assist inventory reporting with the Inventory Manager.
• Provide backup support for accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed.
• Analyze and evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements.
