Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Controller in Houston, TX to lead the general ledger, closing processes, and financial reporting within a fast-growing manufacturing setting. CPA required with 5+ years of accounting leadership, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.

You will partner with operations to drive accuracy, improvements, and audit readiness. The role emphasizes GAAP compliance, budgeting support, and staff development in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory exposure.
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience preferred.
• ERP systems proficiency (SAP, NetSuite or similar) and strong Excel.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and financial reporting understanding.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills for presenting data to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare/review financial statements, reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal policies.
• Partner with operations and leadership to drive accuracy and improvements.
• Develop accounting staff and foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Serve as liaison during audits with external auditors.
