Job summary

Pacific Lifestyle Homes is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to manage accounting operations for a growing residential construction and land development business in the Pacific Northwest. The role emphasizes GAAP reporting, audit coordination, and staff leadership to ensure accurate financials and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in accounting, a BS in Accounting or Finance, and a CPA credential or candidacy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience coordinating external audits.
Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience.
CPA license or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
Experience in residential construction, land development, or real estate.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee month-end and year-end close activities with timely reporting.
Review reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
Assist the Controller with consolidated financial reporting and management reporting packages.
Maintain accuracy of financial records and reporting processes.
Coordinate annual external CPA audits and liaise with auditors.
Support construction cost accounting, land development reporting, and WIP analysis.
Lead and mentor accounting staff; drive process improvements.
