Posillico Civil, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant (Equipment) to engage in the monthly close cycle, prepare financial statements, and reconcile bank and general ledger accounts.

The role includes supervising the Staff Accountant (Equipment) and other staff, while providing financial guidance to the team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in general accounting within the construction industry, is detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively to meet

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years construction experience preferred.
• Experience in preparing WIP schedules.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and experience with internal controls is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with timely preparation and analysis of financial reports, statements and tax filings.
• Assist in preparing percentage-of-completion financial statements per GAAP.
• Manage Staff Accountant (Equipment) to ensure effective results in financing, billing and reporting.
• Provide guidance to staff on accounting, billing and payables.
• Recommend policies for general ledger and job cost posting.
• Support team during six-month reviews and annual audits.
• Perform bank reconciliations and provide data to proposal teams.
• Serve as back-up for monthly/quarterly tax filings and daily cash tasks.
