Job summary
Sage Search Partners is seeking an Assistant Controller in Irving, TX. This role encompasses operations, accounting, and finance responsibilities with ownership of land takedowns, contract review, GL and SOX work, and forecasting cycles. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 2 years of experience (3+ preferred), and strong GAAP knowledge. A CPA and prior experience in Big 4 or public accounting are preferred. The position requires onsite work 5 days a week and offers a dynamic workplace with excellent work/life balance.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance; 3+ years strongly preferred.
Experience in Big 4 or public accounting audit considered a strong plus.
Real estate or construction industry experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Own accounting and review for land takedown transactions.
Collaborate with Construction, Sales, Procurement, and Acquisitions teams.
Build and maintain division forecasts and manage reporting cycles.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
Support SOX control ownership and internal controls environment.
Drive cross-functional insights and process improvements.
