JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assistant Controller provides sales and expense analyses for all departments and coordinates with each department manager in a manner that enables each department to operate profitably. This role must fairly represent the financial condition of the dealership, develop controls necessary for the proper conduct of the business, maintain accurate records, and establish and maintain the data processing capabilities to accomplish O’GARA’s objectives.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accounting degree or commensurate experience
- One year of experience in a dealership position
- Ability to make evaluations, reach conclusions and solve problems based on subjective or objective information, knowledge, and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Working knowledge of dealership financial statements
- Ability to explain technical financial information in an understandable manner
- Ability to express or exchange ideas to convey detailed information and instructions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare financial statements and submit them to the manufacturer on the appropriate day each month
- Interpret and analyze the financial statement on an ongoing basis
- Approve adjustments to inventory accounts
- Meet with department managers to review the financial statement and expenses
- Effectively communicate and enforce operating policies and procedures; assure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to O’GARA
- Reconcile contingent liability accounts
- Assist in the purchase of Fixed Assets
- Maintain effective practices and procedures to ensure timely collection of data to accurately record revenues, expenses, profitability, financial condition, and other critical activities of departments
- Review O’GARA’s outstanding receivables on an ongoing basis and is responsible for implementation of the collections (i.e. contracts in transit, accounts receivable, factory receivable, etc.)
- Reconciliation of Accrual and Liabilities Accounts. Employ, develop, maintain, and effectively schedule a trained and productive staff capable of performing departmental functions in a highly accurate and timely manner
- Lead, direct, and motivate staff to achieve or exceed individual and group performance goals and objectives; resolve differences and sustain a harmonious workplace environment
- Promote an understanding of and strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Cooperate with both internal and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate results

Compensation: $90,000 - $130,000/ annually (depending on experience)
