Are you a financial wizard with a passion for numbers and an eye for detail? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's financial operations while working in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on GAAP Accounting, and the ability to produce accurate monthly reports and manage the year-end close process. Experience in the marketing industry is a definite plus, as is experience in professional services.

An ideal Assistant Controller is someone with mid-sized company experience, looking to grow in their career, has worked in the Marketing industry or a similar field. The ideal Assistant Controller also has experience using Sage Intact or the like. The Assistant Controller also has blended public and private experience and a CPA certification. We are looking from an Assistant Controller that is 100% onsite. You will be supporting the VP of Finance is help grow the business. This is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate!!!

Job Details

As our Assistant Controller, your key responsibilities will include

• Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and reporting any variances.
• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Managing and coordinating the year-end close process.
• Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close process.
• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  
  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience, ideally as a Controller.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, with a strong emphasis on GAAP Accounting.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in the marketing industry or professional services is a plus.
