Job summary

Park Aerospace is seeking an Assistant Controller/Plant Controller to support month-end close, financial activities, and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functions. This onsite role may require domestic and international travel.

The position requires a B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance and at least five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Corporate Controller in daily banking requirements.
• Support month-end close and internal reporting schedules.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger accounting.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations for the organization.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and controls.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and Park Aerospace policies.
• Coordinate with manufacturing operations on inventory, variances and bills of materials.

Job Summary

Under general direction of the Controller, the Assistant Controller/Plant Controller is responsible for assisting month-end close, assisting financial activities and overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, and general ledger accounting functions on a daily basis. This position will assist to develop and initiate systems, policies and procedures for transaction financial matters and ensure that the financial system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with professional accounting practices, governmental regulations and Park Aerospace policies and procedures. In addition, the Assistant Controller will participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports, which may include acquisitions and business unit support on an as needed basis.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists the Corporate Controller in the daily banking requirements.
• Works with the Corporate Controller to ensure clean and timely audits.
• Assists with various consolidated internal reporting schedules on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Compile and maintain the global data base of customer credit information for the purpose of identifying potential changes to credit exposures, and monitor customer accounts receivable aging relative to established credit limits.
• Responsible for the monthly physical inventory process.
• Work with manufacturing operations to communicate and investigate manufacturing variances, maintain Bills of Materials and process inventory transactions.
• Assist with monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Assists the accounting staff and other departments regarding the handling of non-routine transactions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying observations, and recommendations to operational issues.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations for the entire organization.
• Provides training to new and existing staff as needed, monitors progress and advocates for Park Aerospace's Culture.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
• This position is onsite - 5 days/week.
• Relocation is not offered for this role.

Education/Experience/Skills Required

• S. Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Five or more years of progressive responsibility in accounting preferably in aerospace manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires normal dexterity, speech and hearing. Specific vision abilities required by this job require frequent use of a computer monitor
• Be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally, if needed.
