Assistant Controller - Marietta, GA

Who: A driven accounting professional with leadership capabilities and a CPA (or working toward it).

What: Oversee key accounting functions such as accounts payable, job costing, or subcontractor payments while supporting a dynamic finance team.

When: Immediate need.

Position Overview:
Join a seasoned accounting team and take on a leadership role managing financial operations and department oversight with a clear path for advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead and develop a department to ensure operational excellence and professional growth.
● Manage quarterly closings, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
● Strengthen internal controls and optimize accounting workflows.
● Collaborate with executives and IT to improve financial systems and reporting.
● Oversee job costing, subcontractor payments, and contract revenue management.
● Leverage Vista (Trimble) and Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:
● CPA certification (or in progress).
● Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
● 5–7+ years in accounting, preferably in construction (heavy civil is a plus).
● Strong leadership and team management experience.
● Proactive, adaptable, and highly communicative across all levels.
● Previous management experience preferred.
