Job summary

Kennedy-Donovan Center is seeking an Assistant Controller in Foxboro, MA. This development-focused role partners with the Controller to learn accounting operations, budgeting, and reporting, with a planned move to the Controller position within 6–9 months based on performance.

The role oversees general ledger, month-end close, audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring staff and supporting organizational budgeting and reporting needs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or CPA; or Bachelor’s with 7+ years progressive accounting leadership.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising Finance/Accounting teams.
  • Experience with audits, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support and progressively assume responsibility for accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Assist month-end and year-end close processes and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor budgets and analyze budget-to-actual results.
  • Prepare journals, reconciliations, and allocations.
  • Support annual audits and Massachusetts UFR preparation.
  • Maintain internal controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor Accounting and Accounts Payable staff.
  • Collaborate with Controller and leadership on financial information.

Assistant ControllerFinance Leadership Opportunity | Career Growth | Make an Impact!The Assistant Controller is a key member of Kennedy-Donovan Center’s Finance team and serves as a developmental leadership role with an anticipated pathway to the Controller position.
