Job summary

Our client, a growing specialty contractor serving Upstate NY, seeks an Assistant Controller to join the finance team on-site. You will partner with the Controller to strengthen day-to-day accounting, manage project and job-cost reporting, and improve cash flow while maintaining strong internal controls.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of project or construction accounting, a BS in Accounting or Finance, advanced Excel, and at least 2 years of supervisory experience. CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of project or construction accounting experience.
• BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting and assist with financial reporting.
• Lead project and job-cost reporting to improve cash flow.
• Assist Controller and strengthen internal controls.
• Manage cash flow and banking relationships.

The Job:

As Assistant Controller, you will be an integral part of the accounting process and a hands-on leader to work with the Controller to strengthen day-to-day accounting, project and job-cost reporting, manage cash flow as well as ensure strong internal controls are maintained.

Key attributes for Success:

• Construction and project-based accounting experience including AIA billing management
• Highly organized and able to evaluate and report on all project activity accurately to ensure effective cash flow
• Oversee and develop staff for future growth within company
• Strong systems and reporting skills

Minimum Requirements:

• 5-7 years of project or construction accounting experience
• BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA a
• Advanced Excel
• 2 years supervisory experience

Salary: $110k excellent benefits/bonus
