Job summary

GHJ is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting in a hybrid Braselton, GA role. You will lead the accounting team, manage the close process, and ensure GAAP compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, and strong Excel/ERP skills; CPA is preferred but not required. You will partner with leadership on financial reporting and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Six+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting is essential.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel is required.
• CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Coordinate audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Mentor and support accounting staff.
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives.
