Job summary

CBIZ Talent Solutions presents an Assistant Controller opportunity in the greater Atlanta area with strong growth prospects within a nationally recognized utility services company.

The successful candidate will lead monthly closes, GL reconciliations, variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and SOX compliance, while coordinating with operating offices and driving internal control training.

Qualifications

• 2 years public accounting experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel and related accounting software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly financial close and prepare financial statements.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze variances to budget and forecast.
• Complete monthly three-month financial forecast; perform rate analysis.
• Manage flow of accounting data to operational offices and assist SOX compliance.
• Participate in annual budgeting and provide training on internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Some travel and potential relocation opportunities.

Position Responsibilities

• Performing monthly financial close functions including preparation of financial statements.
• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Monthly analysis of variances to budget and forecast.
• Monthly completion of a three-month financial forecast.
• Rate analysis and review.
• Managing flow of accounting data to operational offices.
• Assistance with SOX compliance.
• Participating in the annual budgeting process.
• Providing training on internal control compliance, accounting procedures and financial statement review.
• Some travel and awesome potential for relocation opportunities.

Your technical background should include:

• 2 years of public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and related accounting software.
• Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Annual salary range: $80,000 -$90,000 base
