Job summary

University of South Carolina is seeking a Construction and Renovation Assistant Project Manager to coordinate and manage renovation projects for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support. You will oversee contract administration and guide the project through predesign, design, bidding, construction, and closeout phases, acting as the client representative when assigned.

Qualifications

• Understanding of architectural principles, engineering, and facilities maintenance.
• Familiarity with government processes, management principles, and personnel oversight.
• Strong written and oral communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and support for SAAS construction and renovation projects.
• Collaborate with interior design team to align timelines and design requirements with construction workflows.
• Manage projects through complete cycle: predesign, site investigation, design, construction documents, and closeout.
• Communicate project information and train staff on design and construction processes.
• Research and advise on planning, design, and construction best practices.
• Ensure adherence to South Carolina state design and procurement standards.
• Meet with clients to develop design criteria and provide design solutions within code requirements.
