Solid State Tile is looking for a motivated and dependable Lead Hand / Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day operations on residential construction sites. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience and strong people skills who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities. You’ll assist the Foreman in coordinating tasks, managing crews, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, safely, and to high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Foreman in coordinating daily residential construction activities.
Perform hands-on labor tasks such as demolition, material handling, and general site work.
Work side-by-side with the crew to maintain productivity and job quality.
Help manage subcontractors, trades, and vendors to meet deadlines.
Promote a safe and respectful work environment by enforcing safety procedures and building codes.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with crew members, homeowners, and supervisors.
Support less experienced workers by offering training and guidance.
Monitor job progress and report updates to the Foreman or Project Manager.
Help keep the site organized, clean, and stocked with necessary materials and tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
2+ years of hands-on experience in residential construction
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness and physical ability to perform labor tasks daily.
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Ability to read construction drawings and follow verbal and written instructions.
Organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of residential building codes and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Experience in Residential construction
Valid drivers license and vehicle
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
