Job Description

Assistant Project Manager needed to support the Construction Manager on a $45M new design/build lecture hall project. The ideal candidate will ensure project plans, specifications, and procedures are followed in the field regarding quality and overall client satisfaction. They will be responsible for managing project construction activities to meet specifications and schedule.

Overall responsibilities under the direction of the CM Project Manager:

• Coordinate and manage general conditions of work and project logistics.
• Collaborate with public utility suppliers to obtain final service connections in compliance with determined project schedule delivery date and system startups.
• Conduct technical review and approval of submittals.
• Support project closeout and ensure all project requirements are met.
• Provide support as needed to achieve all required jurisdictional inspections.
• Inspect the quality of work for compliance with design standards and ensure corrective action occurs if/when necessary.
• Coordinate field conditions with Owner, Architect, Engineers, CM Project Manager, and General Contractor’s Superintendent.
• Collect monthly requisitions, review, and submit for final approval.
• Manage logistics and phasing plans with General Superintendent.
• Oversee all required levels of commissioning.
• Enforce safety requirements and protocols.
• Ability to take direction and execute without a high degree of oversight.

Education and Experience:

• BS/BT degree in Engineering, Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline is desirable.
• Five (5) years’ construction experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with reading, understanding, and interpreting plans, specifications, drawings, contracts.
• Knowledge and practice of construction scheduling.
• Knowledge of the design-build process.
• Knowledge of codes, site work, MEP, including high and low-voltage systems.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite and construction management software, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and BlueBeam.
• Familiarity with web-based or mobile document controls and project management solutions.
• Able to interact and communicate professionally with all parties associated with the project. Effectively resolve issues with Contractors in a timely manner.
• OSHA 10 Certified.
