Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager in Brea, CA to support EPC projects across aviation, commercial, energy, and manufacturing sectors. You will assist the Construction Project Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, and EPC PM with safety, quality, schedule, cost recovery, and client interface to ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction/engineering or related field and at least 3 years of construction experience, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field with 3 years of construction experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager, Site Manager, and EPC PM with day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and procurement.
• Coordinate development and implementation of project plans, QA, safety, and subcontracting plans.
• Prepare RFPs, support scope of work development, bidding, and contractor selection.
• Support cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, and project closeout processes.
• Prepare information for and report on project status, risks, and cash flows to stakeholders.
