Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Community Support Coordinator to assist in supervising staff and implementing ISP programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role may substitute for DSP staff as needed and involves coordination of training, health, and transportation support.

The position is full-time in Nebraska, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development. A valid driver's license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge.
• One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in areas of individual programs, finances, and medications.
• Possession of a driver’s license valid in the state of Nebraska or other adequate means of transportation. Must be able to assist with transportation, including driving 15-passenger vans.
• Must possess a reliable means of communication (e.g. telephone, cell phone, etc.)
• Will be subject to criminal history APS and CPS background check. May be subject to drug and alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the hiring processes for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
• Aids in identifying training needs for staff to achieve program goals and conducts retraining or specialized training as needed.
• Monitors job requirements and provides feedback to Community Support Coordinators (CSC) regarding staff performance.
• Assists in writing programs and advising staff in programming techniques, record-keeping requirements, procedures, and related matters.
• Assists in providing transportation services with other agency divisions or community services to meet identified needs.
• Assists in ensuring written individual program plans are developed and used to maximize each person’s progress.
• Monitors record-keeping activities for completeness and adherence to policies.
• Helps coordinate life skills training to promote integration and independence.
• Assists in onboarding and training of new staff.
• Recommends procurement of facilities and equipment.
• Attends staff meetings and training conferences to improve performance.
• Assists CSC in procuring DSP staff substitute coverage.
• Helps plan and facilitate social and recreational activities for community participation.
