As an experienced prosecutor you will be assigned to one of five units: Violent Crimes, Special Investigations, Domestic Violence, Juvenile Offenders, or Special Victims. The position reports directly to their unit’s Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney. Duties will include overseeing daily dockets that are not otherwise assigned, handling a full caseload at all levels of Court, and responding to calls and questions from citizens, law enforcement, and defense counsel.
Position requires a Juris Doctorate degree and five or more years of related experience. The selected applicant must: be skilled at legal research and writing; be able to work both independently and collaboratively in an office that values civility, initiative, sound judgment and skilled advocacy.
Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing
NOTE: This is an at-will position which serves at the pleasure of the Commonwealth's Attorney.
