NYC Department of Buildings seeks a senior leader to direct the Emergency Services division and ensure rapid, coordinated disaster response across the city. You will steward policy development, manage resources and reports, and act as liaison with external agencies during emergencies.

The role requires extensive experience in emergency management, strong leadership, and in-depth knowledge of construction codes. Remote work is possible up to 2 days per week under the Pilot Program.

Competenze

• A bachelor’s degree in any field and four years of emergency management or related building/construction experience.
• At least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity.
• 4 years of operational experience leading teams in large, complex organizations.
• Knowledge of NYC Construction Codes and inspection requirements.

Mansioni

• Oversee the Emergency Services division and manage the Command Team for disaster response.
• Formulate and implement agency policies; develop division strategic plans.
• Coordinate with external agencies and prepare mandated emergency reports.
• Testify before City Council on emergency issues and maintain 24/7 on-call readiness.
• Lead long-range planning, resource allocation and organizational controls.
