Job summary

TA Loving seeks an organized Assistant Superintendent to support site operations, uphold safety, ensure quality, and help reach production goals while keeping project timelines and budgets on track.

You will work with the Superintendent to develop schedules, mentor crews, and coordinate with subcontractors and inspectors to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and OSHA 10 certification.
  • Commitment to safety policies and ability to manage production schedules.

  • Coordinate daily activities with crew, subcontractors, and inspectors.
  • Prepare daily safety reports and assist in pay-requests processing.

Job description

TA Loving is seeking an organized and proactive individual to join our team as an Assistant Superintendent. In this role, you will provide vital support to the Superintendent in effectively managing site operations, maintaining safety, ensuring quality, and achieving project production goals. Your role is instrumental in maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities:
Safety & Risk Management:
  • Prepare daily safety reports.
  • Conduct a comprehensive Project Risk Assessment to identify and mitigate potential health, safety, labor, subcontractor, and quality-related risks.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Fleet Driving Policy.
Quality:
  • Perform daily inspections to verify work quality meets or exceeds contract requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for quality improvements to the Foreman.
Production:
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and General Superintendent to develop project schedules based on workforce, equipment, crews, and subcontractor requirements.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining an updated project schedule.
  • Develop daily plans based on project specifications to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  • Coordinate daily project team activities in alignment with the project schedule.
  • Monitor material, equipment, and tool lead times in coordination with the Superintendent.
  • Support the Project Manager in processing pay requests as per contract documents.
  • Compile a final punch list to ensure all project tasks are finalized.
Leadership:
  • Cultivate positive relationships with clients, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and crew members.
  • Provide guidance and training to Project Engineers, Foremen, and Crews to foster their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to conduct detailed crew performance reviews with the Foreman's assistance.
  • Mentor and coach employees through clear instructions, constructive feedback, and recognition.
  • Proactively identify and address challenges with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Promote transparency, honesty, and high standards within the team.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED, along with three to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensing/Certification: Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record. Completion of OSHA 10 training as per company safety procedures is required.
