The Assistant Colorist at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar supports Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead to provide a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure. You will learn the services and work towards your next role. You love beauty and hair color, and pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing their service with perfection.
The Madison Reed Assistant Colorist is the expert on consultations, hair care products, shampooing and conditioning, blowout services, and the unlimited roots membership program and subscriptions. You will learn and practice the services offered, connect with guests and team members to foster a friendly work environment, meet busy day demands, keep the environment clean and organized, build relationships, and support each other. The Assistant Colorist is in training for promotion to Licensed Colorist within 3-9 months. #livelifecolorfully
This role reports to the Manager and can be full or part time depending on business needs. Availability at peak times is required to best serve guest needs.
Compensation: We aim to pay competitively. Compensation includes base hourly pay, commission, and tips. In California, Assistant Colorists can earn $22 - $32 per hour with an average of $28 per hour. Actual pay depends on performance, tenure, hours worked, and experience.
Physical Demands: Regularly stand and walk for over four hours, perform bending, twisting, manipulating fingers and hands, reach with arms, and lift up to ten pounds. Occasionally sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, and communicate with guests during consultations.
