Assistant Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist

Join Madison Reed as an Assistant Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist at our Hair Color Bar. This role supports Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead to ensure a seamless guest experience, while you learn and develop your skills towards becoming a Licensed Colorist within 3-9 months.

The position involves assisting with consultations, hair care, shampooing, blowouts, and other services, while focusing on building relationships with guests and team members. It reports to the Manager and can be full or part-time, with availability during peak hours.

Compensation includes base pay, commission, and tips, with estimated hourly earnings in California ranging from $22.55 to $32, depending on performance and tenure.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service, embodying Madison Reed's core values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
• Assist with hair services such as shampooing, styling, blowouts, treatments, and product application.
• Contribute to sales goals through retail, memberships, and service upselling.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company standards and protocols.
• Support revenue growth by promoting additional services and products.
• Participate in training to master color theory and behind-the-chair skills.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the applying state.
• Entry-level experience in customer service or retail; salon experience preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with POS systems and fluency in English.
