Madison Reed Hair Color Bar in Long Beach, CA seeks an Assistant Colorist to support Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead, delivering a guest experience from arrival to departure as you learn the services and work toward your next role. You love beauty and hair color, and you pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing their service with perfection.

This role is learning-focused, with compensation consisting of base hourly pay, commissions, and tips.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• Entry level experience in any customer service or retail sales environment; salon or beauty industry experience preferred.
• Effective communication, strong problem solving and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide a guest experience aligned with Madison Reed values.
• Assist behind-the-chair services including finishing, shampooing, conditioning, styling and blowouts.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals, including retail, services and memberships.
• Ensure the Hair Color Bar meets cleanliness, merchandising, inventory and asset security standards.
• Drive revenue through higher average service tickets and memberships/subscriptions.
