L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a part-time Assistant to join Collections Services. The role involves processing, mending, and preparing materials for circulation, maintaining records, and assisting with mail and supplies.
The position is 19 hours per week, non-exempt, with a starting pay of $20.33/hour. Hours are flexible, with a preference for morning availability.
Do you enjoy helping things run smoothly behind the scenes? We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our Collections Services team. In this role, you will process, mend, and prepare library materials for circulation, help maintain inventory and collection records, coordinate library mail, packages and supplies, assist with collection management projects, train and provide direction to library pages and clerks, and collaborate with library staff and vendors to resolve questions.
We're looking for someone who is highly organized and detail-oriented, is comfortable with computers and technology, can manage multiple tasks and priorities, works independently while collaborating with others, and communicates professionally with staff, vendors, and the public. Library experience is a plus, but we welcome candidates with strong organizational, clerical, administrative, or inventory management experience.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position, averaging 19hrs/week. Starting rate of pay is $20.33/hour.
Hours for the position are flexible but morning availability is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves frequent lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds and pushing or pulling book trucks or carts. Occasional lifting, carrying, and/or moving materials of 11-50 pounds are required. Work varies between sedentary (sitting) with frequent walking and standing. Occasional bending, squatting, and reaching motions are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read, write, give, follow, and comprehend verbal and written instructions. Must have effective oral and written communication skills to communicate productively with staff, vendors, and customers.
