Job summary

Curry College is seeking a motivated, energetic, part-time Assistant Softball Coach for the Women’s Softball program. You will support the Head Coach in developing a competitive NCAA Division III team while focusing on student-athlete growth both on and off the field.

The role emphasizes practices, skill development, game prep, recruiting, and upholding a professional, positive team environment within Curry College’s Athletics program.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching at collegiate, high school, travel, or competitive softball.
• Collegiate playing experience preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of softball fundamentals and player development.
• Recruiting experience desirable.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with practices, workouts, skill development, and game prep.
• Provide instruction in hitting, defense, pitching/catching, baserunning, or positional development.
• Assist with game-day prep, coaching, charting, and postgame responsibilities.
• Develop positive coach–student relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
• Support the academic, athletic, and personal development of Curry College student-athletes.
• Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes, campus visits, and events.
• Assist with equipment, practice setup/breakdown, and team operations.
• Participate in camps, clinics, fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with NCAA Division III and Curry College policies.

Assistant Coach, Women's Softball, (PT)

Curry College is seeking a motivated and energetic part-time Assistant Softball Coach to join the Women's Softball program.

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach and coaching staff in all aspects of developing and operating a competitive NCAA Division III softball program.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field and will bring positive energy, strong communication skills, softball knowledge, and a willingness to contribute to the continued growth of Curry Softball.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach with the planning and execution of practices, workouts, individual skill development, and game preparation.Provide instruction and player development in one or more areas of softball, including hitting, defense, pitching/catching, baserunning, and/or positional development.Assist with game-day responsibilities, including pregame preparation, in-game coaching, charting, and postgame responsibilities.Develop positive and professional relationships with student-athletes while maintaining appropriate coach/student-athlete boundaries.Assist in creating a competitive, accountable, and positive team environment.Support the academic, athletic, and personal development of Curry College student-athletes.Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes, including evaluation, communication, campus visits, clinics, and recruiting events as assigned by the Head Coach.Assist with equipment, practice setup/breakdown, team operations, and other program responsibilities.Participate in camps, clinics, fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach initiatives.Maintain knowledge of and adherence to NCAA Division III, conference, Curry College, and departmental policies and regulations.Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Job Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous collegiate, high school, travel/club, or competitive softball coaching experience.Collegiate playing experience is preferred but not required.Strong understanding of softball fundamentals and player development.Experience in a specific developmental area such as hitting, infield, outfield, catching, pitching, baserunning, strength/performance, or analytics is a plus.Recruiting experience or connections within high school/travel softball are desirable.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff.Commitment to creating a professional, supportive, and development-focused student-athlete experience.Availability for afternoon/evening practices, games, selected weekends, recruiting events, and other program activities as needed.

Salary:

$5,100 annually
