Job description

Athletics Coaching - Worcester, Massachusetts

Assist the Head Coach with all facets of the women's lacrosse program, including instructing student-athletes on lacrosse skills and techniques, educating on lacrosse rules and NCAA requirements, assessing comprehension, providing additional instruction, and preparing the team for competition and practice.

Assistants must perform duties in compliance with College, Patriot League, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities (60%)

Provide individual and team instruction on:

  • Techniques and methods for satisfactory and safe performance

Offer personalized coaching, tutoring, and mentoring, including:

  • Assessing skill attainment through practice, competition, and film review
  • Analyzing opponent videos to design tailored instruction
  • Planning daily practice activities
  • Developing instruction for individual and team needs
  • Organizing pre-competition activities and research through workshops and training sessions
Secondary Responsibilities (40%)
  • Identify talented, academically qualified prospective student-athletes
Administrative Duties (10%)
  • Collaborate on annual program goals
  • Maintain records and communicate effectively with coaches, prospects, and parents
  • Monitor academic progress and provide counseling
  • Assist with fundraising, marketing, and promotional activities
  • Administer sport camps as directed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Prior coaching and instructing experience, preferably Division I
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Computer and video editing skills encouraged
