Assistant Coach Open Pool Posting (Womens Lacrosse) - Fitchburg State University

This posting is an Open Pool position. There may or may not be available openings at this time. Please contact the head coach to inquire if there is an opening. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on file.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the head coach in providing leadership, organization, and supervision of the women's lacrosse team.
  • Organizing the program to support Fitchburg State University's mission and the Athletics Department's philosophy.
  • Developing knowledge of NCAA, MASCAC, or other conference rules regarding recruiting, eligibility, and sport-specific regulations.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of sport rules and updates.
  • Assisting with practice planning, contest management, recruiting, fundraising, and other duties as assigned.
  • Keeping records of hours worked to comply with FLSA regulations.
  • Conducting oneself ethically and promoting appropriate behavior among team members.
  • Representing the program at department meetings and functions in the absence of the head coach.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Commitment to academic success and student-athlete well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College playing and coaching experience in women's lacrosse.
  • Understanding of sport rules and NCAA Division III philosophy, recruiting, and regulations.
