Job description

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse, the Assistant Coach provides support and assistance for the intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse program. Responsibilities include preparation of training and practice sessions, pregame organization, scouting reports, team travel arrangements, recruiting, managing the recruiting database, assisting with recruiting tours, and professional communication with the coaching staff and players.

Essential Functions

  • Promote the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, adhering to departmental policies, university rules, and NCAA regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a recruiting system in cooperation with the Head Coach to identify potential recruits and work with high school and travel coaches to recruit quality student-athletes.
  • Identify and recruit quality student-athletes who meet Stevenson University’s standards, both nationally and locally.
  • Assist with daily administrative duties, scheduling practices and competitions, and coordinating with administrators and other schools.
  • Monitor conditioning and training of student-athletes, working closely with the Strength Coach and Athletic Training staff.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach on game strategies, line-ups, and individual training needs.
  • Serve as a role model by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team to scheduled events.
  • Participate in clinics, exhibitions, and camps as approved.
  • Represent the department at professional, civic, charitable, and alumni events, as well as community events.
  • Coordinate with athletic personnel for shared facility utilization.
  • Assist with fundraising and budget planning.
