Overview: Quinnipiac University seeks an Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball to assist the Head Coach with program management including coaching, administration, coordination and recruitment of a collegiate Women’s Basketball program. This position will serve as the recruiting coordinator for the women’s basketball program and will also focus on the total development of the basketball student-athlete.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coach in managing and directing the basketball program
  • Assist with team planning, including training, coaching, competing and scheduling
  • Lead the Player Development Program for each student-athlete
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of recruiting evaluations both domestically and internationally
  • Maintain adherence and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations and university policies
  • Other duties, as assigned
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience may substitute for some of the above education
Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous successful Women’s basketball playing and/or coaching experience at the college level
  • Experience in recruiting is strongly preferred
  • Experience with the administration and coordination of a collegiate Women’s basketball program which focuses on the total development of the basketball student-athlete is preferred
  • Proven aptitude for coaching as illustrated by a strong work ethic, organizational skills, computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally within the department, the campus, and the national basketball community
  • Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
