Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master's preferred.
• Three or more years of coaching experience at collegiate level desired.
• Experience with NCAA Division I and Big East regulations necessary.

Position Overview

This position provides essential support for the success of both the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field programs. Key responsibilities include coaching, skill development, recruiting, academic monitoring, and fostering a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

1. Assist with academic monitoring of student-athletes.
2. Support personal development of student-athletes.
3. Contribute to building and maintaining a positive team environment.
4. Identify, evaluate, and recruit students who can succeed academically and athletically at Butler.
5. Develop relationships with scholastic and non-scholastic coaches.
6. Assist with teaching and coaching in team and individual settings.
7. Oversee training for specific event groups.
8. Manage weight training and skill development programs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Collegiate coaching or playing experience with knowledge of NCAA Division I and Big East rules and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
• Outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in coaching sprints, hurdles, and jumps.
• Three or more years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Master’s Degree.
• Coaching certifications (e.g., USATF, USTFCCCA, CSCS).
