Job summary

Lamar University is seeking an Assistant Track & Field Coach to support the Head Coach in coordinating all aspects of the program, including recruiting, coaching combined events and vertical jumps, and organizing on-campus recruitment and team travel.

The role emphasizes adherence to NCAA rules, academic success for student-athletes, and collaboration with staff to maintain competitive standards and successful recruitment, while performing administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 years NCAA Division I and/or professional coaching experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assist with budgetary management.

Physical Requirements
  • This position required sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting to 25 pounds while performing the essential functions as described within the essential job functions.
