• Assist Head Coach in coaching, scheduling, conditioning, contest preparation, scouting, practice planning, budget preparation, fundraising, equipment care, and travel planning.
• Contribute to the personal, academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
• Occasional duties as assigned by Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Job description

Major/Essential Duties of the Job

Assists the Head Coach in all phases of the sports program to include the following: coaching, scheduling, conditioning, contest preparation, scouting, practice planning, budget preparation, fund raising, purchasing and care of equipment, planning and supervision of team travel, and monitoring the personal, academic and athletic development of student-athletes.

• Computer competence in word processing, database management and electronic mail.
• Needs good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Tolerates work related stress effectively and maintains self-control/professionalism.

Occasional Duties

As assigned by Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge and experience in coaching or playing assigned sport is required. Basic familiarity with computers, scoreboards, public address systems, etc. Evening, nighttime, and weekend hours are expected.

Preferred Education and Experience

Master’s degree. Previous experience in coaching or playing assigned sport at the collegiate level.
