Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Experience playing and coaching designated sport.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in supporting student-athlete academic success by ensuring students meet academic progress expectations and intervene as needed.
• Maintain relationships with New Jersey high school coaches to assist in recruiting prospective student-athletes.
• Plan and direct the athletic program, assign positions, prepare players, and develop game strategies.
• Model leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship among players.
• Verify athlete eligibility prior to competition.
• In head coach's absence, serve as the responsible party for student-athlete safety and conduct.
• Assist in marketing and public relations by sharing game results and success stories.
• Oversee maintenance and inventory of sports equipment and supplies.
• Participate in coaching meetings and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
